2015 Visions

Photo of 2015 Visions members Visions’ Showchoir has long been famous in Grenada, Mississippi, but now the group is set on making a name for themselves outside of their hometown. Not too long ago, the group began traveling to competitions throughout the state. They have also performed out of state at Disney World and on cruise ships in recent years. The program is rising to new levels, and this year is no exception as they embark upon the new competition season.

Visions' 2016 competitive program is centered around The Twilight Zone's Tower of Terror and is entitled Forever Falling. It follows the story of Carolyn McQueen, a Hollywood starlet at the peak of the film industry. Her life is a glamour-filled dream until Halloween Night, 1939, when she upsets the wrong bellhop at the illustrious Hollywood Tower Hotel. He sends her falling into The Twilight Zone, a black-and-white world of oddities beyond imagination. Will she ever make it out? Join Visions 2016 on their journey to find out!

The group rehearses several nights each week preparing the competition show for the upcoming schedule. Competition season begins as Visions competes at the Jackson Prep Show Choir Masters on January 23 and the Jackson Academy Show Choir Invitational on February 6, both in Jackson, Mississippi. Visions can also be seen competing in Petal, Mississippi at the Petal Show Choir Invitational on February 27 and in Enterprise, Alabama at the Enterprise Southland Show Choir Classic on March 4.

Pieces performed in the show include The Twilight Zone Theme, Raise the Roof, Look Away/ Skyfall, Enter Sandman, an acapella rendition of Hotel California, People are Strange/ Uma Thurman, Chandelier, and City Escape. Visions is under the direction of Jenni Winter with assistant director Kim Porter. Visions' competition program is choreographed by and under the creative supervision of Matthew Murphy.
