Visions Show Choir


Visions performers

Grenada High School’s Visions show choir consists of 51 members, with talents ranging from singing to dancing, to expertise in sound equipment, staging, and lighting.  Visions’ most recent out-of-state performances were to Disney World and onboard the Elation cruise ship.  Visions is most noted for their outstanding Christmas and Spring shows that they perform right here in their hometown of Grenada. 
Visions’ members maintain an overall 3.77 GPA (eight members have a 4.0) with 14 members in the National Honor Society, and 33 members consistently named to the GHS Honor Roll.  Members are involved in sports, cheerleading, band, yearbook staff, and serve as class officers in the GHS Student Council.  They are active members of the Anchor Club, 4-H Leadership, Key Club, DECA, Excel Club, NNDCC, French Club and Spanish Club.  Several members have the distinction of being Congressional Award Medalists, members of 100 Scholars, and members of Mu Alpha Theta.  All Visions members are also members of the 4-H Expressive Arts Club.    Visions members are active in FCA, as well as their church youth groups and ensembles.  They perform vocally as well as play instruments for their worship services.  Visions recently competed at the Jackson Academy Invitational.  They received second place in the small mixed division and fourth runner-up overall in the competition.  The title of the competition show was Bad Apple.  The cast of characters for the show included:  Hannah Thomas – Snow White, Matthew Murphy – Prince Charming, Bethany Moore – Evil Queen, Paige Porter – Apple, and Bryant Poe – Man in Mirror.  Songs performed during Bad Apple were:  Clear Blue Morning (Soloist – Lauren Simpson), Beautiful Day (Soloist – Hannah Thomas), Toxic (Soloist – Bethany Moore), Living La Vida Loca (Soloist - Bryant Poe), Don’t Want to Miss a Thing (Soloist – Matthew Murphy, Bring Me to Life (Soloist –Matthew Murphy).

Congratulations to the members of Visions on their recent placing at competition.   Visions’ next competition will take place on February 23 at Pearl, Mississippi at the Pearl Invitational.  Their competition show will also be featured in the Spring Show scheduled for April 18 – 19 at the GHS Auditorium.
