BITDEFENDER PROCEDURE

1. Move the mouse arrow to the Bitdefender (BD) icon in the lower right area of the desktop (screen) and double click.

2. When the BD window appears, move the mouse arrow to “Live! Update” on the left side of window.

3. When next window appears, move mouse pointer (arrow) to the right side and click “Check”. This will take a few seconds.

4. If a blue list appears, below the list the words appear “Updates Available”.

5. Move the mouse arrow to the right side and click “Update” and let it load updates. When it finishes, some computers will be asked to “Restart”. If so, Click “OK” and wait for computer to restart. If the computer does not ask to restart, go to number 7.

6. After the computer has completely restarted (booted) and the user (that’s you) has logged in, do number 1 again.

7. Move mouse arrow to the left side of the BD window, and click on “Virus Scan” and the Virus Scan window will appear.

8. Move the mouse arrow to the lower area and click “Scan”.

9. Let program run. This may take several minutes and may be done at the end of the day. Just get the program started before leaving and let it run over night. It usually takes about 30 minutes. Do not attempt to run other programs while running BD.

10. The program is finished when the numbers on the right of the BD window stop counting.

11. A list of viruses will appear in the bottom area of the BD window if there were any found.

12. Important: Check the list for any virus that says “Deletion failed”, write the name down, and report it to the Tech.

13. Move the mouse to the upper right corner and click on the down arrows. The BD window will disappear. FINISHED!
